Cannabis Accreditation Rule Development
Ecology is continuing to develop a new chapter 173-55 WAC, Accreditation of Cannabis Laboratories, to create a cannabis laboratory accreditation program.
This chapter will set accreditation standards for cannabis laboratories to build a robust and sustainable accreditation system that is fully fee-supported.
To better meet the needs of the Cannabis industry, Ecology made many changes to the rule language since our previous comment period. Changes include:
Renamed, re-wrote, and re-ordered several sections to improve readability and comprehension by the regulated community
Removed Registered status
Updated start of fee collection to match the start of the next biennium, July 1, 2025
